At the CDG airport, I spent my last few Euro coins on a large caramel macaroon. It was 4.60 Euros, which is almost $6, and worth every cent.
I had also packed another picnic because I knew everything would be achingly expensive at the airport, and I was right -- the sandwiches cost around 15 Euro each. We didn't fare too badly with duck terrine and camembert cheese!
After a wonderful three weeks, I am ready to go home to California. How lucky am I?
